That's my sister's b-day! Odd coincidence.
I still go to open mic nights, but I no longer have any interest in carrying a whole evening.
Plus, one of the open mic things I go to starts at 3pm on a Sunday! Perfect for a old guy!
The other one is at 6pm. So, no hanging around until 2 in the morning.
Played over 2,000 gigs in my time, so your appreciation of live music is encouraging.
After my years as a multikeyboardist, I'm gone minimalist. An acoustic guitar & me. Usually 12 string, but sometimes a 6.
Play 2 or 3 songs. Hang out to hear others. Go home in 80 or 90 minutes.
I played bass for a couple guys the ladt time I went.
I've mulled bringing a digital piano & plug into their sound system. But, I haven't convinced myself to do that.
