The CA Insider is not a real news program. It's put on by the nuts at Epoch Times, as is evident in this video as they sit and talk under a big Epoch Times sign hung on the wall.

So what is this guy's brilliant idea for cleaning up the streets of San Francisco? Well, if you devote 46 minutes of your life to watching this video, you'll learn it is to force the drug addicts into "abstinence based treatment" or throw them in jail like he was.

He blames the safe use centers/needle exchange programs for the proliferation of homelessness and drug use in SF, and of course the "powerful politicians" (he names Newsom and local SF leaders), who he ominously suggests are making money off the situation. That is nuts. Getting a clean needle will not make you a user. It will keep you from getting AIDS or hepatitis from dirty needles.

We used to be able to force people into mental health treatment, but Ronald Reagan, when he was governor of California, ended all that, shut down the mental hospitals and those people ended up in flop houses or on the street. The problem has only gotten worse since then, as rents skyrocketed and drug addicts could not hang out in flop houses any more (since there were none left), so they simply spilled out onto the street. Funny how Ricci Wynne never mentions any of that. Instead, he says we shouldn't give drug addicts housing until they "pee clean." I guess he thinks we should put them in jail until that happens, since that's how he got scared straight.

And what is up with Ricci Wynne's New Jersey accent? He does not sound like someone who has lived his whole life in San Francisco as he claims.

You can save yourself 46 minutes by just reading this short news article about what Ricci Wynne is calling for (and be spared the Epoch Times product placement ads):
