It, and many of our company trucks were used as props on The Sopranos. The one in particular was detonated by a rival garbage company... lots of powder was placed in the hopper and off it went. Obviously, no damage to the truck.

The general reaction of the drivers was that it was too bad that Pete wasn't in the truck when it went off.

The trucks were in so many segments that Pete got himself a union card so that he could be paid to drive the trucks and get money as an extra as well as from renting the trucks.

The apex --- Pete was an extra in the Mel Gibson movie, Ransom. He had three words. "What da fuck.' After a couple of times, Ron Howard gave up. Went up to Pete and put his hand on Pete's shoulder. "Pete, don't give up your day job."
