H&R Block investigated this for me. Basically, they were shocked! They really worked on it since they couldn't believe this was happening. Nothing could be done to get it and I couldn't even claim it in my state taxes. The CA Tax Board fucked up and I was screwed...and it was never resolved and I am still fuming since I make only $30,000 a year before taxes and have enormous medical bills (even with the ACA).
