20. I used to live in Barcelona

It wasn't obligatory at the time, but we all learned out of solidarity, since it was forbidden in the schools at the time, and at age 17, one always seeks to do what is forbidden. I still run down to Barcelona about once a month, so I still get to speak Catalan on a regular basis.

Ta neuk piskat Euskera aitxutendot! Unfortunately, I never spent any serious time in Euskadi, and therefore only learned some basics from some Basque friends living in Barcelona. I learned this before ever going there, and confused the locals in Donostia when they asked how many times I had been there, and I said "never, this is my first time."
