Far right extremist warns of a rise in far right extremism if he does not get his way.... [View all]

The 49-year-old has made a variety of suggestions including suspending the Commons to ensure a no-deal and that 'no-deal was better than a bad deal.'

Now Rees-Mogg is claiming that if the 2016 referendum result is overturned and MPs 'defy democracy' it will result in the rise of 'right-wing extremism.'

Speaking at his sold-out Spectator event at the London Palladium on Tuesday night, Rees-Mogg warned that any attempt to stay in the EU would result in a victory for the likes of Tommy Robinson.

If we try to stay and we stay beyond the European elections, there will only be one winner from that, and that would be Tommy Robinson.

Rees-Mogg shared an article from the Telegraph covering the quote and people were quick to point out something from Rees-Mogg's past which would contradict his opposition to the rise of right-wing extremism.

How the hell did this no mark gain so much influence? He needs to bugger off. He would literally suspend democracy to achieve Brexit.... good grief.
