so no real change from now (the streets outside the shops around me aren't that busy (never really are apart from before Christmas), so there I'll keep it on going from one shop to the next, but not worry about others not doing so - people are now practiced at giving each other room on the pavement).

I think they ought to have kept it compulsory for public transport - you can end up very close to people you don't know, with no option to move (at least in a shop, you can usually move if someone crowds you).

Hospitalization is still increasing, though slower than all cases. The answer to Johnson's "if not now, then when?" is "when hospitalization has peaked". I wish one of the scientists had told him that to his face in public.

No, no surprise Brexiteers are anti-mask; half of them do whatever the American right tells them. The 'European Research Group' transformed itself into the "COVID Recovery Group", and has been opposing lockdown measures all along. After Covid, I expect they'll form a climate change denial group - their philosophy is "oppose experts, own the libs, do whatever feels good right now and damn the future".
