1. Online storage, then save to flash or external drive

There are a bunch of ways to save off photos etc. onto more permanent media like a flash drive, burn onto a DVD, etc.

Perhaps the simplest would be to open a Dropbox account (free for a decent amount of storage), then save from there to a flash drive etc. Make sure you are saving the full size file in original format. And check the files before deleting from your phone.

Some of the files may already be backed up from your mobile device to Google or Apple cloud services. If your local library is like mine, they may have people who can help out with tech questions, and up-to-date computers that can help with the project. I think the people who do this in my town are reachable through the elder services. Good luck!
