Bernie's supporters liked to say he marched with MLK, neither Bernie or they learned MLK's most valuable lesson.

"I have consistently preached that nonviolence demands that the means we use must be as pure as the ends we seek."

Please be peaceful. We believe in law and order. We are not advocating violence, I want you to love your enemies...for what we are doing is right, what we are doing is just and God is with us.

Nonviolence means avoiding not only external physical violence but also internal violence of spirit. You not only refuse to shoot a man, but you refuse to hate him.

Then they wondered by blacks did not vote for him in large numbers. Then they dismissed them as too ignorant to see what is best for them. Then they wondered even more why minorities weren't voting for him in large numbers.

This attitude came straight from the top. It played into their victimization fantasy. Their leader did nothing to raise them up, he kept them right where he wanted them, angry. It is the easiest way to get people to join you. Unite them in anger, tell them their anger is righteous, defend their anger, point to the one responsible for their anger, let them loose.
