I'm concerned about public money going to private schools, and the amount of money that is to be made off the educational system I'm sure is not something that only Repubs are involved in 
Certainly don't like what we've see in Chicago....
However, the common core standards are leaps and bounds above what we have had, and any relief from No Child Left Behind will be a benefit to the states. It will certainly take some time to undo the damage that that has caused.
