heard japanese, chinese, koreans, thais, even educated mexicans -- making similar jokes.

you don't really appreciate the role propaganda plays in creating such 'jokes'.

kind of like the similar 'jokes' i heard americans tell in the 50s and 60s about the stupid people in other countries then, when americans believed they were the smartest guys in the room.

such 'jokes' are racist crap wherever and whenever they are told. every nation, culture, people in the world has the ability to turn out similar percentages of competent engineers. There is nothing wrong with US engineers; there is nothing wrong with polish engineers.

but there is a determined effort by capital to drive down wages for US engineers and to move engineering jobs to cheaper imported labor or offshored labor.
