Gustave Trouvé’s tricycle (1881), world’s first electric car.

However, yeah… all of the great “innovations” of the past few decades, we have had for many years.

For example:
  • In 1965, Gemini V got electricity from a “fuel cell.” (It didn’t explode.)
  • In 1973, Skylab got its electricity from solar panels. (Even though one tore off during launch, there was still ample electricity available.)
