He didn't love China when he could blame them for the "China Virus" and his idiot followers didn't like China because they were stealing jobs ( as if ) from blue collar America ( something that goes back 40 years now ).

Today, however, if anyone is paying attention, Trump is back to "neutral" on China and praising Xe as a "very strong leader". You remember when Trump was entertaining Xe at Mar-a-Lardo, right? I believe he is close to that foreign policy right now, just in the last few months... especially when he thought that China might help bail him out of financial problems due to his court cases and legal fees.

Biden has always understood that China is a dictatorship and that we are in a resource war with China to lock up raw materials around the world before they do. Biden also understands that it would be difficult ( and dangerous ) to de-couple the West's economies from the Chinese economy... and yet protect Taiwan as an independent island ( if not nation ) from Chinese aggression and to keep the western pacific rim countries from being completely in the Chinese sphere of influence. On the other hand we need China's help to keep Russia in check. China is a very difficult chess game, much like India.

Hardly the same as Trump.
