Is this possible? [View all]
By now, some readers must realize that I like creating Acronyms. Here is an old acronym I did not create; Multiple Independently Targetable Reentry Vehicle (MIRV)
"If China shares the MIRV technology with Iran, Pakistan, Syria, and North Korea like it has shared nuclear, missile materials, and technology in the past it could prompt an entirely new round of concerns."

MIRV technology is able to destroy multiple targets with a single launch system. Originally, an Inter-Contential Balistic Missle (ICBM) was the primary device designed to deliver several perfectly targeted nuclear devices to at least six cities in the U.S.A. After the device is launched, it splits into six missiles, which create nuclear explosions in six major metropolitan areas. This ancient technology is not theoretical. What I suspect is possible is that an easily launched satellite from North Korea is able deploy this technology. Using durable weather balloons and relatively unsophisticated rockets, couldn't North Korea - with their highly publicized nuclear capability - launch a satellite that could deploy a MIRV device over the United States? If not, the Israeli Space Agency (ISA) bought satellite deployment technology from the USSR years ago to prove it was for sale, even though Israel already had numerous satellites in space at the time.
