7. When I got married many years ago,

I decided to take my husband’s last name. One of my friends criticized me for this and I told her, “What’s the difference whether I take one man’s name or another’s? At least I’ve chosen this one.”

I recently read that the whole system of male domination has existed for less than 10,000 years. Matriarchal and egalitarian societies still exist in the world today. But not here.
