Radiation complete so I wrote a song. [View all]

It has been a long and tough year for Sheila and I. When I was first diagnosed with prostate cancer, I felt alone thrust into a world of doubt and fear. It felt as if the earth had shattered and we were alone in the vacuum of space without any life support systems required for survival in place. It was all still in front of us, the questions left unanswered as to what exactly we would do to relive ourselves of this burden. Months passed, questions answered, oncology team in place, those in my immediate circle went to work. Seeds planted .
In January of 2015, I began hosting an open mic. Over those years I met scores of musicians and bands of brothers and sisters. I watched them improve their set lists, learn new material and become extremely proficient players and performers. Many have gone from hitting our open mic once a month to booking their own shows, hosting their own open mics and the hobby playing became a lucrative form of life giving water. Those bands and performers now share the fruits of the trees that grew around us. Seeds grew into mighty oaks.
Those mighty oaks have shielded me from the harsh environment I have found myself in. I am blessed with the love and friendship I have received over the years.
Join us for an evening of live music Sunday November 10th 5:00 p.m. at Tribe Bar and Grill 5132 south Packard. It's a great opportunity to celebrate our musical family and show some the love that we all have inside.
Peace
