9. Three functions of insulin-

1) Burn glucose for cellular energy.
Insulin interacts with glucose to allow the cells of the body to use glucose as energy.

2)Allow glucose to be stored as glycogen.
When there is excess glucose in the bloodstream, known as hyperglycemia, insulin encourages the storage of glucose as glycogen in the liver,

3) Store excess glucose as fat.
When the liver is saturated with glycogen, an alternative pathway takes over. This involves the uptake of additional glucose into adipose tissue, leading to the synthesis of lipoproteins.

In other words, fat will not be burned when blood sugar is high and insulin is present.
