10. we're dismantling gardens, too

We've put in scallions and garlic. We have fairly mild winters. In addition, we will put straw around the onions to keep the weeds down.

Fortunately sweet potatoes last a long time. I haven't grown them in a while--I think I'll change that next year and give them another try because of what you said about them tasting so much better than store-bought. I would like to learn to make a sweet potato fry that's good, but so far I haven't found a recipe or technique that's as good as store-bought. They are essential as a low-carb substitute to the potato fry.

Did you do a soil test? Is that why you decided to add lime?
