I think that being close to the foundation of the house helps them stay warmer and they bloom, perhaps, a little earlier than others not near a building.

Happy you are getting them! We have a couple days of snow blowing in and I have a parking lot for a yard now, last year I had a huge garden and all that, kind of depressing. At least I have a view of the mountains and the sky. Maybe have a small garden in a small patch out back but I'd have to protect everything from wind, rabbits and deer. Could be a big challenge!

Yay for daffodils! They are so happy looking, I hope they last a few days after they bloom.
