2. It's a garden staple

Alyssum is one of those plants I couldn’t do without. It’s sturdy and the deer won’t eat it. It reseeds itself and it easy to transplant to where you need it. In spite of the volunteers, though, I always also need to buy a couple of flats.

I use white alyssum to bring some cohesiveness to my rather random assortment of flowering plants and herbs—when everything I surrounded by white alyssum, it all looks very deliberate and planned.
