My late cat Milo, an indoor cat, once caught a mouse that was foolish enough to get into the house. He ate it. He crunched it up in the living room as I watched in dismay, and he ate all of it but the tail and a couple of the feet. I saw another of my cats catch and eat a large centipede.

Interesting that the cats have food in their bowls but still chase other animals.

I don't think dogs are boring, but they are fairly predictable in most cases.
