(29,503 posts)14. Odd question - I was accused of being a racist years ago by
a black woman with whom I had an otherwise strong friendship when I told her that, as a white gay man, I found that I was attracted mostly to brown-skinned guys. She suggested that this reflected some kind of inferiority complex, i.e., that since they are generally less powerful in society, as a group, my attraction was based in some sort of condescension or exploitive mindset.
Weird how you're potentially racist if you find minorities attractive, and racist if you don't.
