If one stays in the cities one can probably find safety in urban settings with like minded individuals. Cities are a lot more fun anyway with way more culture and intelligent conversation plus interaction with diverse individuals to be found fairly easily.

But step out into the country and there's just no telling what one might run into. Probably nothing but trouble at some point.
