Missouri security guard fired after allegedly ordering 'Trayvon Martini' at bar [View all]
A security guard in Missouri has lost his job after allegedly ordering a drink called Trayvon Martini. Michael Dargy Jr., a Westport security guard and former Olathe police officer, infuriated a bartender at the Buzzard Beach bar, when he made his request. Known on Facebook as Alobar Bandaloop, the bartender wrote about his experience in a viral post Monday, recalling the racist remark.
Bandaloop said hes always asked to make different drinks, but never once has any drink like this crossed till last week. One shot of vodka, watermelon juice, and it only takes one shot because it only takes one shot to put him down!
Trayvon Martin was fatally shot in 2012 by neighborhood watch captain George Zimmerman in Florida. Considering how Trayvon Martin died, Bandaloop was upset when he found out Dargy worked for Westport security. Who can trust this man in any interaction with an African American? his Facebook post read.
The Westport Public Safety team is hired by the Atlanta-based company Chelsea Brown International. While the investigation continues and remains active the officers employment with Chesley Brown has ended, CBI spokesperson Candice Cade said in a statement.
The statement explained the firms NO tolerance for hate, bigotry or prejudice. The company embraces diversity and inclusion as one of its core values.
We want to make it clear that these types of actions in no way represent the principles of Chesley Brown International.
