Bill Peet [View all]

An Auther who wrote and illustrated
about the ups and downs
and the in between

Everything that captures the mental imagery
captured he strived to capture in his drawings

All the stuff in the world that was going on during his time
He chose the message of wonder that is found in the
nature of walking outside and seeing the world
in parable

He was an artist bent on illustrating
with his drawings a world filled with
all kinds of animal character in the sweetest,
most genuinely kindness of ways telling a story
often filled with dilemma.

Not the best, or the brightest.
Just imagination and a dash of full of hope,
his characters became true and true
to the would-be imagination
of the would-be's who read his books,
and cared about what could

You could be any kind of kid and read one of his
books and find something that brought out
something inside of you that was good,
a little un-ordinary, no matter if the times were tough.

Hope is a message passed down to you from somewhere.
In it is where your imagination takes hold.

In any illustration hope survives.
It makes you whole.
Just you wait for hope to come along
and raise its angry gruff,
Just hold on and try to be strong.
Just remember, hope is everywhere.

Heathcliff from Emily Bronte's story Wuthering, Yeats, Whitman, Jane Goodall
and sometimes Bukowski
Just trying
Inspiration
this is art
you cannot un-see
said a guy like Bill Peet

Peace!
