4. Aaron Rodgers' Odds to Join Steelers Take Interesting Turn

Aaron Rodgers visited Mike Tomlin and the Pittsburgh Steelers on Friday, departing from the Steel City without a contract. The four-time NFL MVP quarterback’s thought process remains a mystery, but news of the meeting has forecasters believing a partnership is indeed in the cards for Rodgers and the Steelers.

The Steelers have offered Rodgers a deal, reportedly lower than the New York Giants’. Rodgers was thought to be holding out to see if the Minnesota Vikings are interested, but they will be moving forward with J.J. McCarthy as their guy. “Aaron Rodger’s odds to join the Steelers have shot up to 75% in the last TEN MINUTES,” Polymarket Sports wrote Friday afternoon on X. “Is Pittsburgh the next stop for Aaron Ayahuasca?”

The Giants remain another option for Rodgers. Big Blue added former No. 1 overall draft pick Jameis Winston on Friday night, signing him to a two-year, $8 million deal. The Steelers also have a contingency plan, it seems, in Mason Rudolph, who returned to Pittsburgh after a season-long sabbatical with the Tennessee Titans in 2024.

Steelers leader and All-Pro defensive tackle Cam Heyward is fed up with waiting for Rodgers’ verdict. He addressed the wait earlier this week on his podcast, “Not Just Football.” “I ain’t doing that darkness retreat. I don’t need any of that crap,” Heyward said. “Either you want to be a Pittsburgh Steeler or you don’t. That’s simple, that’s the pitch. If you want me to recruit, that’s the recruiting pitch. Pittsburgh Steelers – if you want to be part of it, so be it. If you don’t, no skin off my back.”
