(19,316 posts)Often when I'd stop at a light dressed in leather with my ponytail splayed across by back, I'd see the driver next to me reach back and lock their door. As if I'd put the kickstand down, go over and swing their door open, and drag them out in traffic (for whatever reason) before the light changed.
It would probably still happen to many bikers, but they have automatic locks these days. The 305 Dream would likely just garner a smile and a thumbs up, especially at my age now. I think a lot of "truly fine citizens" still get nervous when they see that MC headlight in their rear view though.
I haven't ridden in decades and I now focus on my first love in high school, a Triumph TR6. I had a TR3 when I graduated, and I've been through a couple Spitfires in the past 20 years, but to say the last, no one is intimidated. Indeed, I get quite the opposite so I guess maybe you can be glad when drivers yield to you.
