(12,344 posts)55. Well, first we need an falsifiable definition, and we have had many
God in the Bible is said to have caused certain miracles to have happened, and that's the proof. But based on our modern understanding of how legends develop, we can say no such God exists.
Some say God is the First Cause. But based on modern physics, we think the universe is self-caused in a way we do not fully understand (which leaves the possibility of God open, but much less likely than thought 300 years ago).
