I can only post from my own experience. When I was a teenager our church group studied "The Late Great Planet Earth". If someone believes that book, and there was no reason I wouldn't, we were going to be all done by 1988 (rapture, etc.). Tell the teenager I was she has less than 20 years to live on earth, and I failed to plan a future. What's the point!? That kind of thing. When 1988 rolled around, in my 3rd decade, I went back to those teachings, reading every viewpoint I could find, and came to my own conclusion about those matters. Ain't happening.

I didn't mean to infer that ascension believers are slackers And I know you didn't read it that way.
