16. I'm so sorry you're going through this

It's OK to send your calls to voice mail and answer only the ones you want to. You didn't cause your sister's alcoholism or her fragility and sometimes you need to take care of yourself, first, before you can take care of anyone else. Now is one of those times.

As you begin to heal, you will be able to tolerate her a little better.

Like they tell you in the airplane, put your own oxygen mask on first, then worry about other people.
