Our old generation is dying fast [View all]

My husband's last uncle on his dad's side passed away in March. He was 93. Yesterday, his last aunt on his Mom's side passed away. She was over 90. She and her husband were married early in 1947, and had observed their 74th anniversary this year. Her husband, our last uncle, fell yesterday, right before she passed and cracked some ribs. He's overcome a lot, but not sure if this fall will usher him out. He is about 95, just had a birthday the beginning of the month.

I am saddened by the loss, even if they all lived long lives, defended and contributed to our country, in many ways, justified their existence. Maybe they will expand their presence in the universe and enhance the quality of earthly life as they grow.
