I'm old, living along and I'm fine with not doing Christmas. There's nothing magic about the particular date of December 25 (it was chosen as Christmas only to supersede existing pagan festivals); I can celebrate later when it's safe. I'm also fine with not celebrating New Year's Eve, since I haven't in years anyhow. I'll be glad to see the end of 2020 but I don't have to go to a party to commemorate its departure. I guess I don't get people who can't tolerate being alone.
