Not to mention that even in the 90's there were plenty of studies showing how devastating this "reform" was for many families. Not a few simply "disappeared" - they weren't "on the rolls," they could not be reached by phone, they seemed to have no address .... (this was for follow-up studies I read about then - don't ask me for links, it was twenty years ago and to be honest, I'm not going back and re-researching what I researched then and saw then in action (I was still in human services) and have seen continually since. )

I could tell you story after story .... I have intimate knowledge of the system both before and after Clinton, and it was a scam and a sham and caused untold hardship, despair, pushed people into desperate situations, a factor in "child neglect" when desperate parents let their kids come home to an empty house because they had to work and couldn't afford child-care, on and on I could go.

So don't babble talking points at me. I happen to know what I'm talking about.
