(17,611 posts)If all of what you are saying is remotely viable on a national platform, then whey hasn't he convinced the rest of the country of all of this years/decades ago. If he had such a vision for this country in his 20's, why didn't he go national. Why didn't he go national in his 30's, his 40's, his 50's, his 60's,....now that he's 70-something it's a national conversation that he wants to have. That alone tells you that there was no audience for his view and/or he was unable to sell them nationally. Apparently not even in his home state of New York, so he fled for the less populated state of Vermont, which makes no sense career wise.
And that's really all that comment you were responding to was saying. Viability/electability, that's what that comment was about.
