I speak from experience. It is doable and something you can get through. I have had other surgeries too, and the hip surgery was not the worse. The heart surgery was the worst.
..Recovery form hip surgery requires patience and endurance..Most important is the attitude that I will not give up. Healing takes time. It is not instant. We heal more slowly as we age, but we do heal. Also, hundreds of thousands have had this surgery, and completely recovered with no real consequences.
..I have no trouble climbing stairs, bending, exercising, walking, getting up from a chair, or getting up from a good nights sleep. I do need to exercise more, but what I do are the easiest of exercises. Like leg lifts, minor sit ups, working with one and two pound weights for the arms, and so on. Your physical therapist will show you some easy ones..
...The anxiety before is totally normal. I have had it for all of my surgeries. But, I have survived and grown through them. After surgery, we heal and have less anxiety as we strengthen and heal the muscles after surgery. Please...be patient....It is worth it...
............But healing and strengthening takes time...............Yes, it is worth it, but it takes time to heal....
............Do not give up. The pain lessons and goes away with healing and time...
..........................GOOD LUCK, TODAY AND EVERY DAY......STUART G.
