however in some cases, it doesn't matter because many retailers use the same handful of companies that provide bulk email blasts. So once those companies have your email address, they can and do sell it to others. I use Comcast (the past 25 years) and no matter what provider, spam will get through. I have many filters but it's like the tail chasing the dog.

As it is, sadly one of the worse is the DNC where one gets bombarded with -

We're BEGGING
We're PLEADING
We're IMPLORING
We're ABSOLUTELY BEGGING
We're ABSOLUTELY PLEADING
We're ABSOLUTELY IMPLORING
We're DOWNRIGHT BEGGING
We're.. and on and on

Right to the trash.
