As far as I know this is a limited problem. The buttons are not designed to look that way. They don't look like that on any of my devices, and I haven't heard from anyone else with this issue (although that doesn't mean that nobody else is experiencing it -- they just might not have contacted me about it).
As it happens, one of the things on my insane schedule at the moment ( 
) is an update to the footer buttons on OPs and replies. We've been working on this for a little while. It won't be very disruptive -- we're going to move a couple of things around in order to better display recs, and save a little room where we can.
However this means that all of the code which is causing your problem will soon be replaced with new code. Therefore, it doesn't make a lot of sense for me to dig deep into this particular issue right now, since the code which is causing the problem will be replaced soon anyway.
Now, it's quite possible that the problem will continue after the new code is in place, but if that happens, I can then fix it in the new code. We hope to have the new code ready to go by the end of this month, if not sooner, so hopefully this problem will resolve itself when we perform that update.
Once the new code is in place I'll check back in with you to see if the problem is resolved.
