behind thick walls so their own wristwatches and cell phones don't fry, especially from a high field machine ( probably what she was in). The glass isn't bulletproof, but any round that went into the wall would likely stay there.

It doesn't sound like this gal has much of anything to collect if the machine had a bullet hole in it.
