"Forum organizer and Mountain View resident Sally Lieber, a former state assembly member who in 2005 successfully co-authored a bill to ban sniper rifles, says the protesters were hell bent on shouting down and stopping our forum. But we kept moving forward. The anger displayed by pro-gun activists may have worked to drown out the speakers, Lieber adds, but theres a far more substantial group that wont be so easily intimidated: voters.
Second Amendment absolutists use the same tactics everywhere. They attempt to dominate the conversation by being louder and angrier than those advocating for safe and sane gun legislation, and when that doesn't work they use intimidation and threats. In the end, however, and contrary to the gun lobby's propaganda, American voters (including sensible gun owners) are seeing the absolute need for curtailing the easy access to guns.
Rather than solving problems through obscene SYG and CCW right-wing policies, American voters will use the democratic process to address the out-of-control gun right-wing culture in this country.
