Democratic Primaries

(1,579 posts)And Bernie certainly has the right to go out on his terms. And as far as I can tell, there's no correlation between an early end to primaries and a victory in the general election--the opposite may be true, actually. The 2008 primaries went until the very end, and it helped set up the network for a landslide in the fall.
However, if there is no path for Bernie, it's unfair to ask people to give their money and time for a hopeless cause. It is, by and large, a waste of time when those resources can be used toward the fall, not only in the presidential race but in the downballot races. That is an area Bernie can do a lot of good. If we want a movement, we're going to have to succeed from the local level to the White House, and that effort has to start now.
