a joint COVID policy, though, although working together sounds positive, neither are president and could do absolutely nothing with any policy they might come up with. Sanders may claim that he's busy handling a global crisis, but Biden won't be doing that.
Sanders is named to 6 committees in the senate; but with the Republicans in control, senate Democrats do not make policy.
What you say suggests the possibility of a joint statement, and that would be nice to see. I read that the two campaigns have been communicating about the developing crisis as related to the campaigns themselves.
