I have nothing but scorn for the Green Party and Nader in particular. But it's impossible to blame Nader's 2000 run for policies that Bill Clinton pushed in the 90s. And it's also impossible to blame Nader for votes that centrist Dems in congress cast.

Actually, all that centrism makes life doubly hard for people like me -- progressives that also vote Blue no matter Who without qualification. First, I have to watch Wall Street get deregulated and prisons get crowded and Iraq get invaded. And then, I have to try to convince would-be Green voters not to be idiots, which is made more difficult when Ds support those kinds of policies.
