In reply to the discussion: ABC/WaPo : Biden consolidates support, but trails badly in enthusiasm: Poll (A+ Rated) [View all]The Magistrate
(96,043 posts)Is 'Are you enthusiastic about voting against Trump?' If I answered a poll honestly, I would have to say I am not particularly enthused about voting for Mr. Biden, but I am damned enthusiastic about voting against the cheap thug Trump. I suspect there is a lot of this among Democrats. The punditry did not catch the extent of the groundswell against Republicans registered in the results of the 2018 Cogressional elections. Nor, in a system which allocates delegates proportionately, is Mr. Biden's lead over Sanders slim. It is commanding.
"From Bernies perspective, dropping out of a race once you have no chance of winning is peculiar behavior that can only be explained by the work of a hidden hand. For most politicians, though, it is actually standard operating procedure. Only Sanders seems to think the normal thing to do once voters have made clear they dont want to nominate you is to continue campaigning anyway."
"When things are not called by their right names, what is said cannot make sense. When what is said does not make sense, what is planned cannot succeed. When plans do not succeed, people become uneasy. When people are uneasy, punishments do not fit crimes. When punishments do not fit crimes, people cannot know where to put hand or foot."
primary today, I would vote for: Joe Biden
