Based on an expert on the Chris Hayes show, a reason for Wray's resignation was because FBI had many people who support Trump, Jan 6th and so on. There is a big element of Trump like MAGA in the FBI. He was already under pressure from them and Trump's win did it for him. Yes, ideally, as a powerful man, Wray needed to stand out, let Trump fire him, and make some news. Obviously, Christopher Wray did not envision himself as a man fighting for democracy. He was good but he just wanted to retire and live on his retirement funds.

I understand, but if powerful people do this, how are powerless people like me to fight for democracy? Who will be that powerful leader I can look up to? Yes, Wray is no Dem or a patriot, but this is bad for our country. I envision a disintegration of our country. That is a scary thought. Country's geography does not help. We have Western States, a sliver of Illinois, and then Northeast. Barring Western States succeeding standing up against Trump, we really are screwed
