History apparently likes to credit Reagan for the fall of the USSR, but I continue to believe that Jimmy Carter did most of the work - have they forgotten about his grain embargo? And in his book - obviously written when he was 90 - he goes into great detail about quite a bit, including the Camp David Accords. Getting Menachem Begin and Anwar Sadat to agree on anything was quite a feat - at one point Sadat was packed up to leave, but President Carter convinced him to stay - and the rest is history.
