(1,136 posts)My take is, four years after leaving office, no more SS detail. If you want to keep it, you pay for it. You listen to what they say, they're the experts.
And no detail for grown children. Ever. Minors, yes. Grown idiots? Nope.
It's time we start cutting off the money spigot for politicians. They can come into government basically broke, and leave millionaires. How does that happen on their salary? I'll tell you how: kickbacks, handouts and outright grifting. Book deals and speaking engagements should not be allowed. No fees for doing anything while they're in any office.
In fact, I'd like to see all of them banned from doing books, speaking engagements, joining company boards, university boards, or anything like that, for ten years. Yes. Ten. Take the incentive out of being in office. Do it for the good of America, and or don't do it at all. Go private sector and move on.
