The occasional invective or pejorative is an easy pass.
When the peevishness goes beydod that though, and becomes the identity of the speaker however, propping itself up as part and parcel of the argument at the expense of any real argument is when I make the decision that I'm engaging with a bad-faith actor, and I begin to ignore them on a passive level, just kinda skipping past the name from then on.
