(2,411 posts)I keep saying this and keep getting told that it's a close race that could go either way and I am probably wrong. A little bit here, every time I mention it at home. I keep getting reminded about Clinton. That the GQP cheat very well. And so on.
No--this is different, as you say. This town is Trump Central. We went to vote this morning, Day 2 of early voting. We do this every four years (and midterms)--we walk in the door, straight to the room with the booths, pick a booth, vote, drive home. This time the parking lot was full. The line was very long. And here's what I noticed: The people were happy. They were smiling as they chatted. The guy in front of me kidded me about something and we joked back and forth while we waited. I commented that I had never seen so many people there at once and he said wryly "Hmm, this must be important." That doesn't sound like something a trumper would say. A few couples came in scowling, never stopped scowling, never spoke--ok, so there were some trumpers there. Harris voters have hope and joy and I'm saying I saw it in 80% of that crowd. It's different this time. And yes, we are going to win.
