Imagine if a story goes out that they arrested a person who did this but instead of locking him up, he was rendered to another country much as we did to the 9/11 suspects.
Now imagine the concern from the person who did that or someone who knows them then they realized the legal-eeze wasn't going to protect them whether the RNC or whomever would pay for lawyers. Things happen. People disappear, sometimes for a very long time.
They could hope their best scenario would be a silent trip to Guantanamo.
Just a thought.
Precedent has already been set and not questioned by the Supine Court.
And to paraphrase an old quip, "How long can you hold your breath?"
