The Slate publication advises that we cancel Amazon instead. No. I cancelled WaPo as a political act and because I feel like their integrity might be compromised. You might remember the 2018 NPR news story: "Video reveals power of Sinclair, as local news anchors recite script in unison". It hit me so hard to see our local newscaster become a corporate parrot that I even began to mistrust our local Channel 12 weather report. Paranoid, maybe so, but the next year, Trump altered the Dorian hurricane map with a Sharpie! So, too bad for the WaPo journalists, but I am not paying for gagged news or opinion edited with a Sharpie. As for Amazon, I don't suspect that the silly light media content that I personally consume will be compromised and, as a person with limited mobility, I "let my fingers do the walking" for much of my shopping. So, Slate, you make some excellent points. Now, go pound sand.
